History & Paranormal Activity
The 1890 Ypsilanti Water Tower — famously described as the most phallic structure in America — is surrounded by an unusual legend: the spirit of a Victorian-era woman in a white dress is said to circle the tower at midnight on the anniversary of a tragedy at the base of the structure. The Eastern Michigan University campus surrounding the tower has an extensive paranormal history, including a dormitory where a student died in mysterious circumstances in the 1960s and whose room has been sealed, re-sealed, and re-reported as active for sixty years.
