The Crescent Hotel
Eureka Springs
Haunted Building High Activity
History & Paranormal Activity
Built in 1886 as a luxury resort, the Crescent Hotel was taken over in 1937 by charlatan Norman Baker who converted it into a fraudulent cancer hospital where patients paid enormous sums for useless treatments and died. Bodies of cancer victims were found in the basement morgue after Baker's arrest. Baker's ghost — in a lavender shirt and purple cowboy hat — is reported in the lobby. Michael the Ghost, a stonemason who fell to his death during construction, appears in Room 218. The hotel embraces its dark history with guided ghost tours that document consistent evidence.
