The Bullock Hotel
Deadwood
Haunted Building High Activity
History & Paranormal Activity
Built in 1895 by Seth Bullock — friend of Teddy Roosevelt and Deadwood's first sheriff — the Bullock Hotel is said to be haunted by Bullock himself, who loved his hotel so much he refused to leave it. Guests report a tall, mustachioed figure in a 19th-century suit standing at the foot of their beds and watching over the room. The spirit is not threatening — it behaves like a proprietor checking on guests. Bullock's presence is strongest in the basement restaurant, where he reportedly moves bottles, dims lights, and occasionally sends glasses sliding across the bar.
