The Brookdale Lodge
Boulder Creek
Haunted Building High Activity
History & Paranormal Activity
This 1890 lodge in the Santa Cruz redwoods has a stream — Boulder Creek — flowing through its dining room beneath a glass floor. The ghost of a young girl who drowned in the creek at this location is the most documented spirit: she appears in a white dress near the stream room and has been photographed by dozens of guests. Al Capone reportedly held meetings at the lodge during Prohibition, and his enforcer's ghost is blamed for aggressive activity in the bar area. The lodge has burned, collapsed, and been rebuilt multiple times — each rebuild retaining the supernatural activity.
