History & Paranormal Activity
The oldest European burial ground in Michigan, established by Father Marquette in 1671, contains the remains of French Jesuit missionaries and members of the Huron-Wendat nation who died during the early contact period. The ghost of a robed figure carrying a lantern — interpreted as Father Marquette himself — has been reported walking between the grave markers since at least the early 1800s. A group of Native American spirits is encountered near the perimeter of the cemetery, standing quietly and watching visitors.
