Portage County UFO Chase
Ravenna
UFO Sighting Low Activity
History & Paranormal Activity
On April 17, 1966, multiple Portage County sheriff's deputies chased a low-flying craft for 86 miles across Ohio and into Pennsylvania. The craft — described as the size of a house with a dome top — hovered at tree level, illuminating the ground below with a brilliant cone of light. The deputies' accounts were investigated by Project Blue Book, which classified it as 'Venus' — an explanation the officers rejected in Congressional testimony. Deputy Dale Spaur, the primary witness, maintained his account until his death. The case remains one of the most credible law-enforcement UFO encounters on record.
