History & Paranormal Activity
An inn has stood at the end of the Santa Fe Trail since 1607, making La Fonda one of the oldest continually operated hospitality sites in North America. A gambler shot dead in the lobby in the 1800s is reported walking the mezzanine, still watching card games below. A Spanish dancer who lived and died in the hotel during the 1920s is seen in the courtyard after midnight, performing to music no one else can hear. Guests in the tower rooms report temperature drops and the scent of rose water associated with a woman who died there in 1936.
