Harpers Ferry — John Brown's Fort
Harpers Ferry
Historic Site Medium Activity
History & Paranormal Activity
In October 1859, abolitionist John Brown seized the federal arsenal at Harpers Ferry in an attempt to start a slave rebellion — the raid that helped trigger the Civil War. His spirit is reported in the surviving fire engine house where he made his last stand before capture. A mist-like figure in period dress is photographed on the stone streets of the lower town. The cliffs above the town, where multiple soldiers and civilians died during the battle, generate EMF anomalies that investigators document on every visit.
