Haunted Building High Activity
History & Paranormal Activity
Built in 1898 during the height of the Klondike Gold Rush, Alaska's oldest hotel is haunted by 'Mary' — a young woman who contracted pneumonia while waiting for her gold-seeking fiancé to return from the Yukon and died alone in Room 23. Her apparition, thin and coughing, is seen in the hallway outside what was her room. Guests in Room 23 report waking to find a translucent woman at the foot of the bed, the overwhelming scent of roses, and the sound of soft crying. Hotel staff refuse to enter the room alone after dark.
