History & Paranormal Activity
This 1851 granite fort in Boston Harbor held Confederate prisoners during the Civil War. The most famous ghost is the Lady in Black: a Southern woman who disguised herself as a man and infiltrated the fort to free her captured husband, was caught and executed, and now haunts the fort's corridors. She is one of the most documented and consistent military hauntings in America. Lighthouse keepers and ferry operators on the harbor have reported seeing her black-draped figure on the ramparts for over a century.
