History & Paranormal Activity
This 1834 coastal fort served in three wars and was the site of a significant Civil War battle. Rangers report a Confederate soldier seen at the embrasures at sunset, doors opening against the wind, and footsteps in the casemates after closing. The prison cells in the lower level are particularly active.
🔒 Classified Field Investigation Notes
A sealed section of the fort's cistern system was opened in 1977 and found to contain personal effects including a journal — the journal was taken by a private collector before the state could catalog it.
