First Midwest Arena — Former Chicago Stadium Site
Chicago
Historic Site Low Activity
History & Paranormal Activity
The old Chicago Stadium, demolished in 1995, was built in 1929 and hosted some of the darkest chapters of Chicago's Prohibition history — underground tunnels connected the arena to nearby speakeasies, and violence from rival mob factions left traces that workers reported for decades. The area where the old stadium stood generates cold spots and phantom crowd noise reported by construction workers who built the current arena on the site. The old tunnels beneath the structure, sealed but not fully demolished, remain an active investigation target for urban explorers.
