History & Paranormal Activity
The BOQ at Selfridge, built in 1917 for America's oldest active military airfield, is a documented paranormal site among base personnel. Pilots who died in training accidents at what was then one of America's busiest training fields during WWI and WWII are reported throughout the quarters — an aviator in a leather flight helmet seen in the corridor outside Room 12, the sound of aircraft engines starting from the direction of the historic hangars in the pre-dawn hours. A female ghost near the officer's mess is attributed to a nurse who served at the base hospital in the 1940s.
